Rue Visconti – Fondation Maeght – Projection Installation
Dirt Empire was hired by Christo and Jean-Claude Studio to design and install a site specific projection exhibit at the historic Fondation Maeght in the south of France. It was part of a larger retrospective that detailed Christo’s use of oil barrels across his career. We designed a two-channel setup that projected into a room within a room. It’s purpose was to represent Christo’s first use of the oil barrel in a public context as captured in the photograph “Iron Curtain”. The room was the exact measurement of the original Rue Visconti in Paris and the projection mapping was designed to simulate the original scale of the scene.
